Braemar on Parliament Street is the only Edwardian townhouse in the Auckland Central Business District still used as a residence. Built in 1901, it has been restored but with the addition of modern facilities for comfort and convenience.

It's the title shot in Geoff Murphy's Kiwi classic movie Goodbye Pork Pie and our Kauri staircase dazzled in Don Selwyn's beautiful film Maori Merchant of Venice. Where New Zealand pioneer flyer Jean Batten's father Fred had his apartment upstairs is now our main guest suite.

All guest rooms have Internet access. All our bathrooms have large restored old style clawfoot baths and separate standalone tiled showers, served by continuous hot water gas burners. Heat lamps warm these areas as fans extract the steam. All toiletries are complimentary and we endeavour to offer the finest New Zealand-made products.

Breakfasts are made to order in our stainless steel chef's kitchen and served either in the adjacent dining room or on the north-facing deck. We can cater for any taste or dietary need – just let us know when you book so that we can prepare a menu. All of our breakfasts are made from the freshest available GE-free produce.

Our rose dining room features linen damask tablecloths, silver cutlery and fine bone china. Relax in the comfort of this spacious room and enjoy your breakfast in style.

The huge, richly furnished front parlour can be a theatrette with video projector and hi fi sound system. Sky digital is available on all TVs.

Being located in the Auckland CBD means that cinemas, theatres, cafes and restaurants are all just a short walk away.
