Kingbilli Cottages Rural Tranquillity

Discover a tranquil world on the banks of a clear mountain stream, hidden amidst the inland slopes of the Great Dividing Range. Home to nearly 200 species of native birds and wildlife, this naturally beautiful environment creates an idyllic hideaway for travellers wishing to experience the magic of the Australian bush.

In an atmosphere of ecological harmony, Kingbilli's secluded bluestone cottages provide the perfect base from which birdwatchers and wildlife lovers may explore their surroundings. Soaring timber ceilings and soft leather furnishings complement the stone and slate, while open fires and private spas soothe the worn and weary. Floor-to-ceiling windows reveal heavily landscaped gardens, designed with feathered friends in mind.

With separate living/dining room, bedroom/s, bathroom and fully equipped kitchen, each cottage is completely self-contained, and supplied with mountain bikes, tennis racquets and fishing rods. Guests remain private and totally independent, their only interaction being with the king parrots on the windowsill or a lazy wombat waddling by the verandah.

Map - TaggertyIn the evening, jacuzzi fans can engage in conversation with a cheeky brushtail possum as she scampers by to steal her supper roses from the garden. Tennis players may be partnered by some large-footed team-mates, in the form of our resident kangaroos.

Activities are plentiful and bush-lovers seeking a memorable experience will enjoy a guided llama eco-trek through Blue Gully, Kingbilli's private wildlife sanctuary. Carrying delectable picnics in their saddlebags, gently humming llamas lead the way through shaded trails to a hilltop spot with views across the Cathedral Valley to the Great Dividing Range.

For those preferring to wine-and-dine in more traditional fashion, there are many delightful coffee shops, restaurants, wineries and country pubs closeby. Fishermen are catered for also, although some may have their sport interrupted by a platypus paddling past. Guests seeking to explore the local area will find horseriding, golf, ballooning, skiing and rock-climbing within easy reach of the property.

Some may find it takes more than a few days for the slow, seamless pace of country life to impose itself upon their psyche. Others let the solitude and beauty of the landscape overtake them, sitting to meditate on the rustlings of leaves in the cool evening breeze or the filament-like reflections of trees and rushes on the still surface of a dam.

In these moments, the memory of constant motion in the outside world disappears
