You are about to discover an extraordinarily special bed & breakfast! Rose Lindsay Cottage is part of the original Norman Lindsay Estate at Faulconbridge where Australian native wildflowers and wildlife are found in abundance. Everything inside – the main house with it's wonderful B&B suite and the private, self-contained Loft – is themed to match the natural beauty of the bush. From the main house of beautiful sandstone and rough-hewn Western Red Cedar, old stone pathways lead through gardens filled with native plants like Mountain Devil, lillipillies and rainforest plums. You'll also find everlasting daisies, native violets and orchids hiding amongst the ferns. As you wander through the grounds, you'll find a modern barbecue and an old fire pit which can support a roaring fire. As an additional service, wonderful platters of cold meats and salads will appear and you can sit and enjoy a barbecue by the frog pond and watch dragonflies land on water lilies. The spacious B&B suite is beautifully furnished with huge windows overlooking wildflower gardens where you can catch the last rays of the sun as they turn the gum trees to gold. Here you can enjoy your own wonderfully fresh plunger of coffee or tea, while you chat, read, write or relax in front of TV. There is also the guest lounge room with log fire, an array of comfortable armchairs and lounges, library, and a genuine pianola from the Roaring Twenties. Breakfast is served in the sunny dining room or on the garden terrace. The Loft is a wonderful, romantic, luxurious, private place for you to escape to, with its own open fire and kingsize spa bath. This can be reserved just for you! The Loft has everything you need to make your stay enjoyable, comfortable and very special. Curl up on the large comfy sofa to read, listen to music or watch a movie. There are also fluffy bathrobes, fresh flowers, chocolates, homemade biscuits, generous breakfast provisions and a complimentary bottle of bubbly. Air conditioning provides year-round comfort. With Rose Lindsay Cottage as your base, there are so many wonderful things to do and see. After drinks on the balcony and a game of petanque on the lawn, you can skylark on the famous "Fairy" swings from the movie "Sirens" to your heart's content. In the morning you can visit the Norman Lindsay Gallery with its magnificent sculptures, etchings and paintings of fairies, water nymphs and sirens; swim in the bush pool at Glenbrook; go bushwalking or bicycling or do nothing at all! All this awaits you and we look forward to making your stay with us wonderfully memorable! Allow us to pamper you in style and grace, with mouthwatering home cooking including homemade biscuits, and flowers fresh from our garden. |
